60's 70's 80's 90's 200 and now ?

Welcome to a new decade

An idea I had when I taught : "wait ? this is the first decade I live from the beginnig to the end, that's cool !"...

I looked around to see what was the most representative thing for each decade, and I came up with one of the most important thing : Music. (except for the 80's)

I tried to play with some "clean grunge" effects and the Avant-garde font (my favorite font), I think it turned out pretty good ^^

This is a really interesting and thought provoking design for a new year's wallpaper. First of all I like the simplicity.. it always helps in making an impact. The use of the images as texture to the numbers was really cool and one of the things that makes this artwork so interesting. Although I can't really identify what they are exactly (except for the 80's) I know that they represents icons of the decades. It would have been great if the were more readily identifiable but I suppose once you explain what they are it would be fine (maybe I'm just dense... lol).
The "And now?" quote was a nice touch but I wondered it it would have looked better a little smaller or in sentence case. My favorite part of this was the smallest part. "welcome to a new decade." was the perfect ending to the entire concept.

All in all excellent work and looking forward to more... keep the art coming!!

just a rubik's cube for the 80's.. (chose it for the "Graphic" look)

but if I had to choose a band I would say.. The Clash. even if it's late 70's/early 80's.
